This morning my journey to work will be 5 minutes on my bike instead of 50 minutes in my car. I am attending one day of the VALA (Victorian Association of Library Automation) conference at the Melbourne Convention Centre. This gave me the opportunity for a short training ride this morning. I set a route that I estimated would take one hour.
This route is described using cardinal points. Down Dynon Rd to the Moonee Ponds Creek, south along the creek to Footscray Rd, west along Footscray Rd to Whitehall St, north along Whitehall St, east to Kensington Rd, along Macauley Rd stopping to window shop in Tempted and the Erin Gallery, south into Dryburgh St and home. Actual travel time 50 minutes, see coaches my speed is improving!!!!
Challenge for the next ride is to stand up in the pedals when going up hill.
I think I can, I think I can Simon!

Are you supposed to stand up on the pedals going uphill? I never do.
Like the new blog banner. Do you know where it is?

Hi Tony Good riders stand up in the pedals when they take off at the traffic lights and also when they go uphill. I do not know where the image comes from but I will do some research. Let you know if I find out. Jane
