The ones that I desire for my Valentine are spoken for, the ones who desire to be my Valentine are not a tight fit, so the best thing for me to do is to go for a long training ride and ride them all right out of my head!!! (Informed by Paul Kelly)

The day began with a swim, on my way home from work I dropped by the launch of local sculptor, Greg Taylor’s, latest exhibition – Cunts. One hundred and twenty of them all sculpted from life, women aged from 18 to 84. Eighty percent of the audience are women, there is a hushed awe in the gallery as we all marvel at the variety of Mother Nature.

Drawing on the discipline of 41 years of swimming training, I took off on my bike at 1925 planning to ride from Nth Melbourne to Williamstown and back. I expected it to take 2hrs. It actually took 1.5 hrs. I arrived back at 2055 and despite a numb bum I felt like I still had enough energy to do it again. Thanks again to the encouragement of my three coaches – Chris, Simon and Willie, I thought I could and I DID! My reward – piza for dinner. A great ride that gives me confidence that I am bike fit.
Next ride scheduled for Saturday when I need to get some more hills in and when I will ride for 2hrs.
